Eugene O'Neill, the Nobel laureate playwright, penned this one-act in 1942. Hughie is set in a NYC hotel lobby where smalltime gambler Erie Smith returns home, boasting of his grand escapades to a new night clerk. His slick veneer quickly thins, however, and his journey toward his personal truth begins.
