On December 17, 1951, Paul Robeson and William Patterson took the United States before the United Nations and charged the government of the United States with attempted genocide against the descendants of the chattel slaves of America. 18 years later in May 1969, they would meet at Bob's Johnson's Club 47 to discuss the defense of Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton and reflect on the "We Charge Genocide" document.
