An Actor’s Carol: One clown’s Dickensian marathon towards redemption, adapted for the stage by David Weber, Tim Blewitt, and Zach Hilbun and performed by David Weber recommended for all ages. Joey Ruggiero opens the show with an acoustic set of carols.
Come out to The Hudson Theatre for a little twist on this classic tale, which will have you leaving the theatre touched by the power of redemption, and giggling a little. The evening begins with an acoustic act, with some of your favorite Christmas carols and then culminates with our one man clown Christmas Carol.
Throw out the cynical, commercial, and routined theatrical traditions and come to this passionate play with the spectacle rooted firmly in the story. The transformative performance of Dickens cautionary tale is amplified throughout by moments of clarity and hilarity from our clown. This kinetic production borrows heavily from the theatrical techniques of vaudeville and silent film.
"A solid display of Weber's wide-ranging acting talents." Bert Osborne Atlanta Journal and Constitution
Elements of Eastern European Clown set this production apart from other adaptations.
