When a low-budget remake of the classic Billy Wilder film, “Sunset Boulevard,” is announced, every desperate older actress in town covets the iconic Norma Desmond role. The writer/director is swamped by audition requests from actresses of all colors, shapes, and, as it turns out, genders. Our three principal drama queens – an aging TV diva, a former Blaxploitation movie bit player, and a pre-op transwoman – will stop at nothing to get the part, competing against one another with no holds barred. A comic romp that skewers nostalgia, egomania, ageism, affirmative action, and anything else in its path.
