“I’VE SEEN THIS SH*T BEFORE” —
At a time when the world seems to be falling apart, beset by wars, racism, immigration, and public health debates, a 92-year-old writer and performer offers audiences a much-needed dose of perspective, humor, and resilience.
Author, playwright, historian, and humorist Carole Eglash-Kosoff brings her acclaimed one-woman show, I’ve Seen This Sh*t Before, to Santa Barbara for a limited engagement.
Backed by the melodic sounds of the Rahn Coleman Trio and a dazzling bucket of visuals, enjoy 92 minutes of memories, music, and laughs. Half storytelling, half history, and half comedy, the show takes audiences on an enjoyable journey through nearly a century of global upheaval and personal adventure.
Born during the Great Depression, Carole has lived through multiple wars, economic booms and busts, social revolutions, and breathtaking technological change. Her message is simple—and surprisingly comforting: we’ve faced turbulent times before, and we’ve come through them. She has seen this sh*t before.
The result is an evening of memories, music, and laughter that reminds audiences that perspective—and humor—can go a long way in uncertain times.
Carole’s life experience reads like an adventure novel. She has traveled to more than 90 countries, worked in the Black townships of South Africa, learned to fly, and witnessed dramatic cultural shifts across nine decades. She has survived bad music, questionable fashion, and more than a few overdue changes in morality, all without losing her sharp wit.
The show has already received enthusiastic reviews from audiences in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Calabasas, and New York. Now Santa Barbara audiences will have their chance to experience it.
After all, if a 92-year-old can make it through the past nine decades with humor intact, there may be hope for the rest of us.
