Los Angeles, CA – Winner of multiple Tony Awards and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best New Play, this electrifying family drama ALL MY SONS, by Arthur Miller, remains as timely as it is timeless. A gripping American classic reveals the lethal consequences of deceit and greed. In the aftermath of WWII, Joe Keller and his family struggle to stay intact while planning for their future as a long-hidden secret begins to tear them apart—forcing a reckoning with truth, guilt, and repentance.
Miller placed “the common man” at the center of his tragic stories. “The quality in such plays (tragedies) shake us…from the underlying fear of being displaced. Among us today this fear is as strong, and perhaps stronger, than it ever was. In fact, it is the common man who knows this fear,” said Miller (1949).
Arthur Miller is considered to be one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century. The recipient of 8 TONY awards, including the TONY for Lifetime Achievement, his best known works include Death of a Salesman (Tony Award – Best Play; Pulitzer Prize – Drama), The Crucible (Tony Award – Best Play), A View From the Bridge, The Price, and After the Fall.
Director Gary Lee Reed has worked with Sir Ian McKellan and the National Theatre of London, Alfred Molina, Alan Young, Barry Williams, and John Schuck, directing a diverse range of productions throughout the country. He is an Emmy Award winning Art Director. Gary directed the world premiere farce/whodunit Villa Thrilla by Anna Nicholas at Circle X. His production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change was nominated for numerous awards, ran for six months with several extensions at Crown City Theatre. Gary recently directed The Andersonville Trial at Grove Theatre Center and the world premiere production of Shades for LATC. His critically-acclaimed Hollywood production of Godspell garnered 22 nominations and awards including nods from the Los Angeles Times – “Critic’s Choice,” a Pick of the Week - LA Weekly, and Daily Variety’s “Critic’s Pick.” His production of Most Happy Fella was nominated for the “Best Musical” award by LA Weekly.
Wasatch Theatrical Ventures (Executive Producer) presents great American plays – penned exclusively by American playwrights. It is a not-for-profit production company. WTV aims to ensure that great American theatre is available to all, not just those able to spend top dollar for Broadway productions. In the playhouses WTV chooses, every seat is a “premium” seat. The short space between actors and audience creates a unique theatre experience. This dynamic cannot be produced, at any price, in large halls or amphitheaters. The Honorary Chair of WTV's Board is the prize-winning American playwright David Feldshuh (Miss Ever's Boys), Director Emeritus of Cornell University's Department of Theatre Arts.
