CHRISSY METH has been selected for the World Premiere of the Soaring Solo Star Series after having an award-winning run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Chrissy Meth is a solo show written & performed by Crystal Bush with direction & development by Jessica Lynn Johnson. It centers around a motherless child "Crystal" who grows up in the western suburbs of Chicago, and not only has to face the racially oppressive construct of her world, she also finds herself stumbling from one abusive relationship to the next, pushing her into a deep drug addiction. Somehow, from the depths, of being lost forever, she finds hope and begins to put the pieces back together. Through the use of song, multimedia, humor and multiple characters, she explores, questions and challenges beliefs and social mores surrounding identity, and self-esteem while showing that it’s never too late to comeback and find one’s self-worth.
(IM)PERFEKT What if that which you identify with suddenly disappeared? Who would you be then? (IM)PERFEKT is an award-winning solo show about identity, beauty and labels. Sometimes you need to (literally) lose a part of yourself in order to discover who you truly are. What if you have been Perfect all along? How much precious time have you wasted living like you aren’t? Actress Jannica Olin was the stereotypical blonde blue-eyed Swede. Her long hair had always been a big part of her identity. Until suddenly, she lost it all. In (IM)PERFEKT, Jannica takes us on a journey of exploring and uncovering that which we think we are, have to be and maybe, ultimately aren’t.

MAMAISMS is Old-Fashioned Wisdom for a New Generation. What we learn from Mama is truly timeless. We all know the Mamaisms, “Because I said so!” “Eat that food, there are starving children in the world!” or “Say that again and I’ll wash your mouth out with soap!” And, we have our own relationship to each one. Sonia Jackson gracefully balances both comedy and drama to uniquely present the criticism or praise, hostility or peace of growing up. Sonia’s character work is remarkable and takes us on a roller coaster of universal themes about grandmas, mamas, children and mothering. Sonia’s grandma guides a multi-generational cast of characters of little boys and girls playing, teens discovering, mamastending and more to tell the stories that make us think about how to parent well and how to just be thoughtful, mindful and kind in life. Written & performed by Sonia Jackson and Directed by & Developed with Jessica Lynn Johnson, Mamaisms premiered to a packed house at the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast SOLOFEST 2019 at the Whitefire Theatre and went on to be an official selection of the BINGE FRINGE FESTIVAL at the Santa Monica Playhouse. MAMAISMS continues its local tour as part of the WORLD PREMIERE Soaring Solo Stars Series. Come, be reminded, laugh and cry at the Mamaisms we grew up with and maybe learn a new one or two!”
ENERJOYCE Writer-performer Joyce Fidler’s premiere was a SOLD-OUT success at the largest solo theatre festival on the West Coast: SOLOFEST 2019. It was seen in three full house encore performances at the Whitefire during the summer and went on to do a benefit show with the prestigious Santa Monica Playhouse in the fall of 2019. ENERJOYCE is now extending its local tour to the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood as part of the WORLD PREMIERE Soaring Solo Stars Series! ENERJOYCE follows the journey of a Pisces whose dual personalities “Flo” and “Sam” push and pull her through a life that glides along the gentle waves of music, past the choppy surges of marriage and parenting, below the turbulent torrents of alcoholism and into the smooth and rocky streams of sobriety, usefulness and service.
MY NAME IS MOMMY is an award-winning solo show that celebrates the exhilaration of motherhood, balancing poetic passages with humorous detours into the modern realities of raising small children. April Wish moves forward and backward through time, exploring the pressures and the promises of parenthood. Unapologetically feminist and powerfully tender, MY NAME IS MOMMY studies a matriarchal family’s traditions, exploring the connection between generations through Wish’s lens as both a mother and a daughter. The show follows her journey as she looks for the bits and pieces of herself she left behind when she stepped into her role as Mother – buried under mountains of toys and traditions. In this dynamic and often hilarious piece, April Wish has crafted a love letter to her daughter, Clementine, as well as to the little girl she used to be herself.
